CLASS PICNIC - SHILPARAMAM (23/11/12)

Going on outings or picnics is an integral part of orchids. This help the students to interact with their peer outside classroom environment. They also learn to interact with outsiders. The students get practical experience of what they learn. Thus, their knowledge and understanding is enhanced. They see new places and learn about new things. Knowing the importance of outings, we took our preprimary students to class picnic to Shilparamam (23/11/2012). They shared their snacks with their friends and truly enjoyed their day here. It was a fun filled day for our Tiny Tots.

Clay Modelling (16/11/12)

Clay modelling is an enriching activity for kids. It is a doorway to creativity that is rewarding and stretches the imagination. We supply the materials and kids supply their thoughts. It is also an ideal teaching tool. Clay modelling is children’s all time favourite. Students build and sculpt their ideas. It is a very fruitful and fun way to learn techniques and improve fine motor skills. So, we at Orchids conducted clay modelling competition for our pre-primary students.  The students used clay to make different objects with their imagination.  This helped them to find a means to express their emotions. Our children were completely involved in the activity and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Children's Day Celebration (14/11/12)

Orchids – The international School celebrated Children’s Day with a lot of enthusiasm. It was a jolly time for all of us to see our dear teachers perform exclusively for us. The celebrations started with some of the teachers singing songs; it was later followed by dances by some of the other teachers. The dances were truly wonderful and made all of us speechless. Then, as a part of entertainment, our senior section teachers performed a small skit with one of them as a teacher and the rest as students. The skit dealing with a typical class scenario kept all of us in splits. The surprise of the day was a magic show. The event finally came to an end with our Principal Ms Mona Mehdi wishing us on the occasion.
On the whole, we had a wonderful time to see our teachers perform, all for us.

Diwali Celebration (8/11/12)

India, being a culturally diverse and fervent society, celebrates various festivals. One among them is Diwali. Diwali is a five day festival which is known as the ‘Festival of Lights’ for fireworks, small clay lamps, and candles are lit during the celebrations. These lights are said to represent victory of good over evil, and brightness over darkness. The candlelight makes Diwali a very warm and atmospheric festival, and it's observed with much joy and happiness. In Orchids - The International School, the pre-primary students celebrated Diwali festival on 08/11/12. The students were traditionally dressed. The importance of the festival was shared and pooja was performed. They sang songs and danced well. Sweets were distributed and diyas were decorated beautifully. The whole atmosphere was festive and the students enjoyed each and every moment of it.
