It was the week long celebration in the country (1st-7th July). It was the ‘Utsav’ time in Orchids-The International School. The month began with display boards getting ready with wonderful scenery and picturesque greenery, with plants and trees as cynosure, voicing slogans of afforestation. Each class planted a sapling and took an oath to participate in the conservation of environment. Classes I-VIII presented innovative programmes to showcase and articulate the need for a continuous movement for a greener India and greener world.

Field Trip [Nature walk] - 8/7/2011
“A thing of beauty is a joy forever”. How true it is! This was said with reference to nature’s beauty. But today’s high-tech man has forgotten to appreciate and enjoy the beauties of nature. He is only absorbed in the materialistic world. He doesn’t have time to see the sunrise or sunset, to enjoy moonlight, to observe trees and plants, blooming flowers, blue sky, twinkling stars, flowing water or animals around. To nurture the same among our students, we had an activity for them wherein we took them out for a “nature’s walk”. This was to inculcate in them observation skills and to appreciate nature’s life and beauty. Our children truly enjoyed a lot

Red Colour Day Celebration
Colours add value and meaning to our lives. Each colour has its own significance. We teach our students colours with a lot of reinforcement. In that pursuit itself we celebrated Red Day on 1/7/11. Our intention is to teach different concepts with a lot of activities. Red represents love. Red is auspicious too. Red is very striking and catches attention immediately.
We also invited parents to participate in this celebration. We organized a game for our parents. As it was a Red Day, all of us were dressed in Red. We highlighted objects which are red in colour. Our point was to make the students identify this colour and articles of this colour. In short there was learning amid entertainment.
